The copositions of stainless steel AISI304 and AISI316 differ somewhat.The main component of SS304 is chromium,molybdenum is absen. Although SS316 is base on SS304,it has a comparatively greater nickel content and molybdenum.
SS316 is better suited for usede in seawater beacuse it contains molybdenum,which makes it resistent to corrosion from seawater and high temperatures.Even though SS304 resists corrosion well,it will rust if it works in harsh environments for a long time.
